The Asian Resort by BSF

Regular price $85.00
Since 1969, Disney had planned 3 resorts to sit on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon, each themed to an exotic place around the world. One of the three was Disney’s Asian Resort, a resort inspired by the unique culture and architecture of Thailand. With 500-600 rooms, the rooms would surround a large centre building containing the sizeable lobby with a restaurant at the top.
Development of the Asian Resort was nearly finalized and its construction was more or less a done deal. With construction expected to begin in 1974, a large, square shaped plot of land was allocated for this hotel. However with a slump in tourism thanks to the 1973 Oil Crisis, the resort was never built. It wouldn’t be until 1988 when Disney’s Grand Floridian Beach Resort was opened on the site.
